Technical SEO tools
Ten tools for the infrastructure behind a site: what crawlers may fetch, how they discover URLs, which version of a page is preferred, where old URLs go, and how structured data and social tags are declared.

Which tool to use
- Crawling: create a file with the Robots.txt Generator, then test URLs against it with the Robots.txt Tester & Validator.
- Discovery: build a sitemap with the XML Sitemap Generator or check an existing one with the XML Sitemap Validator.
- Duplicates and versions: the Canonical URL Checker and Hreflang Generator & Validator.
- Moves and errors: write rules with the Redirect Rule Generator and verify them live with the HTTP Status Code Checker.
- Markup: the Schema Markup Validator for JSON-LD and the Open Graph Analyzer for sharing tags.
Technical checks before a launch or migration
Before launching or moving a site: generate and test robots.txt so nothing important is blocked; build or validate the sitemap so it lists only final, indexable URLs; confirm each template outputs a self-referencing canonical; map every old URL to a new one and generate redirect rules; after launch, check a sample of old URLs with the live status checker to confirm single-hop 301s.
Migrations are where sites most often lose the value of existing backlinks — old URLs that 404 or redirect through chains. Protecting those links is cheaper than replacing them. If you do need new links afterwards, see how our backlink packages and PBN backlinks work, and read common link building mistakes.
Frequently asked questions
Which technical tools make live requests?
Only the HTTP Status Code Checker. The rest work entirely with text, XML, JSON or HTML you paste.
Is a valid robots.txt and sitemap enough for indexing?
No. They help crawling and discovery; indexing also depends on the page's quality, canonical signals and whether search engines consider it worth including.
Can these tools see my Search Console data?
No. We don't connect to Search Console or any search engine account, and we never estimate index status.
